Air freight consolidators, ocean transportation intermediaries and non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCC) must possess a valid continuous international carrier bond and/or in bond/export consolidator bond (IBEC) registered with US Customs & Border Protection (CBP). The types of bonds are as follows:
- An NVOCC must possess a Type 3 International Carrier Bond – Minimum amount is $50,000.
- Airfreight consolidators must possess a Type 2 Continuous Custodial Bond.
